Garden Committee
The Spa Park gardens that the Friends tend are in the best condition that they have ever been. The right mix of sunlight, rainfall, and pleasant temperatures make the colors on the flowering plants pop. The various volunteers that assist have a great time working with each other, swap gardening tips, share many laughs and mix and mingle with the Spa Park visitors.
We have a group that work in the following gardens on a weekly basis starting the first week in May until just after the first hard frost in the fall:
Pollinator – surrounding the playground next to the Peerless Pool building
Creekside Classroom Building – front and back
Garden in front of Hayes Spring, affectionately called the Spouter garden
Coesa – enter through the SPAC parking lot and continue to the fence at the far right
Bruno – pavilion in front of the Par 29 golf course building, across from the Automobile Museum
Spa Park patrons are always impressed with the gardens and ask for tips on how to make their own gardens more enjoyable. If you are interested in gardening at the Saratoga Spa State Park, please contact us at [email protected] or by calling the Park Office at 518-584-2000.
